Memories of the Phonograph

Mr. R. Llewellyn Moss - 1911 Remembering the first time he heard an Edison Phonograph, January 21, 1878

On January 21, 1878 Mr. Moss attended a Telephone Concert and Exhibition of Phonograph at the Elmira Opera House in Elmira, New York where music was delivered over Edison's "singing and speaking telephone." An exhibition of the Phonograph was Part II of the program.

Thirty-three years later Moss provided an opera brochure from that event and the following story about hearing Edison's tinfoil phonograph along with explanations about the telephone and phonograph.

The following story comes from the Edison Phonograph Monthly for October 1911.
